Human-Centered Moments

what it's like working together

Your wedding day is captured with a "people first," natural moments focus. I will step in at appropriate times to offer direction on posing - but for the most part I prefer to keep things pretty "un-posed" and natural.

I will also be there for small directions to make sure you both feel comfortable in front of the camera and look your absolute best! I like to keep things as candid and authentic as possible, while encouraging comfortable, dreamy, and romantic moments through prompts and questions. That way the focus is on your love and not my lens.

The Process

What you can expect

step 01

next phase

Let’s get to know each other! Think about it like a super low pressure first date. We’ll set up and time to chat… and we can talk about pricing, sure. But what I really want to know is what makes you YOU. I want to hear about your love story, about falling for one another. And about what it is about your partner that just sets your soul on fire.

step 02

next phase

I’ll send you a fits-like-a glove proposal based on what you need covered. From there I give you a week to look it over, chat with your partner, and pay the retainer. Typically about 30%. No dates are held until the retainer is paid and agreement signed - but I totally get this this is a big investment. It deserves time and thought, and to me that means at least a week before the proposal expires.

No dates are held until the retainer (typically around 30%) is paid and agreement signed - but I totally get this this is a big investment.

step 03

next phase

All signed and paid!? WOOHOO!! Give yourself a big high five, do a little dance, and sip something yummy because you just crossed one giant thing off of your to do list. I’ll send you a little welcome letter and set you up with a client portal where all your important info can be safely kept.

step 04

next phase

Let’s talk engagement sessions! I’ve got a pretty comprehensive guide I can send over that lists most of my favorite locations, and tips for prepping your outfits. I’ve also got a few bucket list locations that have yet to be explored, and am always open to creative suggestions from you and your partner. I’ll also send you a questionnaire ahead of time so that you know what to expect from your time in front of the camera, and I’ll know what you are most comfortable with and looking forward to.

step 05

next phase

Engagement session time! I am so excited to guide you two through this with fun prompts, romantic poses, and plenty of creative collaboration. Sweet, silly, affectionate - whatever your “thing” is as a couple, let’s capture it!

step 06

next phase

About 6 to 8 weeks before your wedding I’ll pop in again. Now’s the time to talk wedding day flow, figure out your perfect timeline, and make sure that your favorite moments are captured in a way that feels authentic and low stress. I’ll also send you a tiny bit of homework. Things like family photo lists, and picking which details you want photographed will make your wedding day flow much more naturally. Your 2nd payment is also due about now.

step 07

next phase

Final details! Your last payment is due two weeks before your day and can be accessed through your client portal.

step 08

next phase

Your day is finally here!! I cannot wait to capture every lovely moment alongside you.

step 09

next phase

Post-wedding sneak peeks. You’ll get an abridged gallery of the highlights of your wedding day within one week! Feel free to order thank you cards with them through your online gallery, or start sharing them with family and friends. Always tag your vendors!

step 10

next phase

Gallery delivery! Within three months or less your whole gallery of photos will be yours. This is the perfect time to pick your favorites, or just sit and relive your wedding day with your spouse. Cozy drinks are a must as you look through your favorite day.

I am ready to book! What now?

YAY! I am so stinkin’ excited to work with you! If after reading this you want to jump on a quick phone or zoom call so that we can meet, talk about your priorities for your day, and get to know each other OR come up with a custom option, then I am absolutely ok to do that.

Next, I’ll send you a custom, fits like a glove proposal based on what you described on our call.

After that I give you a little space. Look everything over, talk to your partner, and when you are ready to make it official you can sign your contract and pay your first retainer. I’ll give you about a week to make that decision.

All signed and paid!? YAAAYY!!! It’s time to celebrate! We are in this thing together and your date is now secured. Next steps include vendor recommendations and engagement session planning.

Annie's talent as a photographer speaks for itself, but what I like most about her was how comfortable she made us feel. She listened, but just as importantly offered prompts and support to make the process comfortable and fun. Her communication before our session was exceptional. The one hour photo session felt like 20 mins, but Annie delivered a surprisingly HUGE number of beautiful photos. Talented, experienced, organized, compassionate, personable, she has it all; expectations exceeded!

Annie is the freaking cat's pajamas. My husband and I are two awkward introverts very wary of the spotlight and camera lens. Annie's calm and cool nature made us feel so natural and comfortable the entire time. Never once did we feel forced, stiff, or too posed. She was able to capture such a true feeling of authenticity on our special day. So happy and grateful for her skills!!!
